COACHING

Pony Club rallies are the backbone of Pony Club where all learning begins.  Coaches play an integral role in supporting clubs to provide fun, engaging and varied activities for members

Coaches should provide a safe and fun environment for riders to develop skills, confidence, a sense of belonging and a love of horses and horse riding.

Pony Club Victoria encourages senior riding members, parents and others to consider a coaching pathway.   Mentors are available to support aspiring coaches.

We encourage all Pony Club Victoria coaches to consider gaining an accreditation with Pony Club Australia and achieve their first aid qualification.  Check the PCA website for more information: PCANCAS – Pony Club Australia

Coaches can become a member through the Pony Club Australia Membership portal called MyPonyClub.  You can log in here: Login – JustGo

Coaches membership is $25 and renewed on 1st January each year for coaches who are paid for their time (excluding travel reimbursement).  Volunteer and PCV riding members can become a coach member at no cost.

All coaches must provide a current Working With Children Check and link to all clubs that they will be coaching at.  Coach members will receive regular emails advising of training and development opportunities held throughout the state.

All coaches receive insurance when coaching at pony club organised activities provided they are a current coach member of Pony Club Victoria.  Pony Club Australia Accredited Level 1 coaches who keep their accreditation current receive further insurance outside of club organised activity when coaching Pony Club Victoria members.  It is the coaches responsibility to ensure that the riding member they coach is a current member of Pony Club Victoria and to sight their membership details.
