I WANT TO COACH AT PONY CLUB

Before coaching at a Pony Club affiliated with Pony Club Victoria you must have the following credentials:

  • Current coach membership in our database (JUSTGO LOGIN) state club VICTORIA DIRECT. Coaches also have the option to join their local club as a supporter member.
  • Current WWCC (APPLY HERE)
  • Current qualification as an equestrian coach (Pony Club Australia, Equestrian Australia or other:
    • Or Training towards a PCA/EA or other equestrian qualification level (must provide evidence of enrolment)

COACH MEMBERSHIP 

Coach membership for 2025 is now open.

We are offering a six-month membership.

Membership prices range from $0-$25.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS CAN I GET IN PONY CLUB?

  • PCA NCAS Foundation – Enrolment Cost $75
    • This credential is suited to senior riders, parents and new coaches.  This level is a stepping stone to Preliminary and coaches can obtain some RPL if they progress to the next level.
  • PCA NCAS Preliminary – Enrolment Cost $120
    • This credential is suited to more experienced coaches.  You do not need to have achieved the Foundation level to start this level.
  • PCA NCAS Level 1 – Enrolment Cost $198 
    • Pre-requisite is PCA Preliminary level
  • PCA NCAS Level 1 (Games Specialist)
    • Pre-requisite is PCA Preliminary level
    • This qualification is under review.  Please contact Pony Club Victoria for more information.

COACH APPOINTMENTS – STATE COACHES

Pony Club Victoria appoints State Coaches whose role is to develop and support our state teams and emerging talent squads in preparation for national competition.
The role of State Coach involves:

  • Developing and implementing high-performance programs
  • Developing and maintaining a positive culture
  • Challenging, supporting and creating team cohesion
  • Assisting with team selection and athlete support

2025 Pony Club Australia Nationals is set to be held at Werribee Park Equestrian Centre from October 1st-5th.

Expression of interest for TeamVic coaches will be announced soon.  Please keep an eye on this page and our socials or your coaching emails for more information early in 2025.

COACH APPOINTMENTS – STATE COACH ASSESSORS

Pony Club Victoria appoints State Coach Assessors whose role is to provide training and development support to our coaching workforce across the state.

State Coach Assessors also facilitate opportunities for trainee coaches to sit their practical assessments.

Pony Club Australia is developing a formal training program for State Coach Assessors which will be rolled out to our current assessor workforce early in 2025, and we hope to follow on from that by seeking expressions of interest from other Pony Club Australia Level 1 coaches who would like to train towards becoming a state assessor.
