The Pony Club Victoria Board is calling for nominations for:
Two Elected Directors
Two Zone Nominated* Directors
One Zone Representative Director
For election/appointment at the Pony Club Victoria (PCV) 2023 Annual General Meeting to be held in early 2024.
Pony Club Victoria is the pre-eminent organisation in equestrian sports responsible for a journey of education and participation in equestrian for ages 3 to 80. PCV is affiliated with a recognised National Sporting Organisation (NSO) Pony Club Australia LTD, whose vision is a life with horses starts here. PCV is a volunteer-based organisation focussing on rider experiences based on values, behaviours and beliefs, and promotes inclusion and stewardship across our membership. PCV is looking to establish our next strategic plan in 2024 and strengthen the culture of our values-based organisation across all elements of our organisation focussing on riders experiences, volunteer participation, competition, coaching, and importantly having fun!
PCV is looking for individuals who share a passion for our sport and will be excited by the prospect of contributing to the strategic direction of equestrian in Victoria. Successful candidates will be able to think strategically, are comfortable making critical decisions and are willing to roll up their sleeves and contribute and help reshape our values-based organisation.
Who Pony Club Victoria is looking for:
Experience in one or more of the key following areas:
- Change Management with a focus on strengthening member communication
- Marketing and communications skills
- Background in HR specifically relating to management, training and upskilling of a volunteer workforce
- Accounting or financial qualification
- Equestrian sport knowledge
Desirable skills or experience:
- Previous Board experience in NFP organisations
- Understanding of key metrics to assess performance of an organisation
- Ability to utilise your business networks for philanthropic, sponsorship, pro bono advice or volunteer support for PCV
- Equestrian experience, either via participation, coaching, volunteer roles or parenting/supporting a member in our sport
- Child safety and development, education
What is the expected commitment from a PCV Board member?
- Attend Board meetings, held monthly. Most meetings are conducted virtually, however PCV holds 2 in person meetings per year and 1 in person meeting in collaboration with our State Council
- Committee service – a willingness to sit on one of the 5 Board-level committees, Finance, Risk and Audit committee, Nominations Committee, Governance Committee, Safety and Sustainability committee.
- Attendance at State-level events is highly encouraged and will be measured against performance contribution of individual Board members
- A willingness to roll sleeves up and contribute in the area of professional/life expertise you will bring is paramount to this role.
- Demonstrated commitment to Child Safety Standards, and a commitment to ongoing professional development to keep abreast of changes in this regulatory space
- This role is a volunteer Board position and as such is unpaid (with reasonable board-related expenses funded by the organisation)
- Must maintain a current Working with children’s check
- Must be a member of a local club or be willing to join a club
