2 JUNE 2021 - COVID UPDATE

The Victorian Government announced today, 2 June 2021, that the state-wide Circuit Breaker Lockdown will be extended for Metropolitan Melbourne with some easing of restrictions for Regional Victoria.

With no community transmission in regional Victoria this week, regional restrictions are proposed to begin easing from 11:59PM, 3 JUNE 2021.  During the next 24 hours tracing and testing will continue to confirm that these changes can go ahead.

REGIONAL VICTORIA – WHAT RESTRICTIONS ARE IN PLACE?

Leaving home
  • Can leave home for any reason
Travel
  • Can travel anywhere in Regional Victoria
  • No travel to Metro Melbourne, unless required, all restrictions in Metro Melbourne will apply
Face coverings
  • Must be carried at all times
  • Must be worn indoors except if at home, or if an exception applies
  • Must be worn outdoors where 1.5 metres physical distancing cannot be maintained
Indoor Sport & Recreation facilities
  • Closed, no indoor equestrian activities
Outdoor physical recreation
  • A maximum patron cap of 50 people per venue.
  • Group sizes to a maximum of 10 people.
  • Density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm applies.
  • Community sport: Permitted for children. Training purposes only for adults
Regional Victoria - Return to Equestrian Sport

General conditions for return to Equestrian Sport

Rallies & Coaching for children and adults may resume

  • maximum of 50 people per venue
  • groups of participants must not exceed 10 people
  • Density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm applies
  • support personnel not included in group numbers, support people should be kept to a safe minimum

Competition for children may resume

  • maximum of 50 people per venue
  • groups of participants must not exceed 10 people

METROPOLITAN MELBOURNE – WHAT RESTRICTIONS ARE IN PLACE?

Leaving home

Stay home unless:

  • shopping for necessary goods and services (one person per household, once per day, a support person can accompany if required)
  • caregiving or compassionate reasons includes care of your horse
  • authorised work or permitted education, or work interstate
  • exercise (up to two hours, with one other person or members of your household)
  • receive a COVID-19 vaccination
  • other specified reasons (specific exemptions apply)
Travel
  • Travel limit of 10km from place of primary residence, exceptions apply, see full list of restrictions below for details
Face coverings
  • Must be carried at all times
  • Must be worn indoors and outdoors except if at home, or if an exception applies
Indoor Sport & Recreation facilities
  • Closed
Outdoor physical recreation
  • Closed:  Outdoor playgrounds remain open
Metropolitan Melbourne – Impacts on Equestrian Sport
  • No physical meeting to undertake equestrian activity
  • Online rallies encouraged
  • Online meetings apply
  • Can leave home to care for your horse
  • Recreational riding not permitted
