Welcome to Catherine Iredale
We welcome Catherine Iredale to the PCV State Office team; Catherine has taken up the newly created role of Club Development Officer.
Catherine started riding when she was eleven years old after years of pestering her parents, soon joining Hastings pony club and competing with them until she was eighteen when she stepped into a coaching role.
Since then, Catherine has spent fifteen years coaching at various Pony Clubs and has developed a passion for teaching both beginners and younger members with a strong focus on building a solid foundation of horse management and riding skills, while making lessons fun and safe.
For the past three years, Catherine has carried this passion into her position as the SMZ Examining Secretary, where she has thoroughly enjoyed helping riders achieve their certificates, as well as spending five years on the DCI/ZA panel.
Catherine served as the Chief Instructor and later as DC of Dingley Pony Club and has organized and run multiple clinics and competitions through a variety of clubs giving her extensive experience at dealing with situations at a club level as well as an understanding of the specific needs a club has.
Catherine has studied Sport and Recreation and worked in community health administration and project management. This experience coupled with her extensive pony club background will give her a clear advantage in helping clubs becoming more strategic and forward-thinking in their approach.
Catherine is currently raising and training her homebred Warmblood mare and they enjoy a bit of everything, most recently trying their hand at Working Equitation.
Catherine has two daughters, age 8 and 5, and a supportive (non-horsey!) husband.
We are very excited to have Catherine on board, to contact Catherine directly email firstname.lastname@example.org.
